Our story.

Bienvenidos! Juan and Eugenia here, siblings and AYNI founders. We were born in Argentina and spent our childhood in Buenos Aires in the care of our grandfather Carlos, a naturopathic M.D. and pioneer in the supplement industry, who conveyed to us his passion for all things wellness and holistic medicine.

After 10 years of experience working by his side at the family protein and amino acid supplement company, the discovery of South American ingredients through our frequent travels, drove us to found AYNI, a wellness brand rooted in the power of medicinal plants spanning from the depths of the Amazon rainforest to the high altitudes of the Andes mountains.

Our aim is to create the most effective and transformative products to enhance body and mind, while we authentically preserve the rich essence of South America and promote it on a global scale.

Thank you for joining us on our journey!

Living life in the round.

“Hoy por ti, mañana por mí.” or in English “Today You, Tomorrow Me.” is the meaning behind AYNI, a South American philosophy which centers on the belief that everything is interconnected. That a sacred reciprocity exists between one another and between us and the natural world.

This principle of AYNI guides us during every step of our production process, from sourcing to packaging and beyond.

Our commitment to exceptional sourcing.

Through our travels in South America we have cultivated sustainable relationships with growers and farmers who are guided by transparency and environmental and social consciousness. We exclusively partner with suppliers that pay fair wages, provide training programmes and respect the ecosystem.

We source our ingredients from their native growing region, for maximum efficacy and minimal environmental stress. You can read more about the sourcing of our hero ingredient, the maqui berry, through this link.

Reciprocity to Mother Earth: plastic free packaging and carbon offset.

Our zero-waste packaging consists of infinitely recyclable glass containers and aluminum lids. Our label and product box are F.S.C. certified which means that the paper used to make them comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

To offset our carbon emissions, we partner with ONE TREE PLANTED and are committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2023.

Reciprocity to the community: giving back to nature’s guardians.

As a way to give back to the Earth and its guardians, for each container purchased we donate a fixed amount to SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL, a non-profit organization that supports and protects tribal people’s lands and heritage in the Brazilian Amazon and other endangered areas.

Harnessing the power of South American ingredients.

In 2019 we took a break to travel our native region, South America, from the tropical Andes in the North, to Patagonia at “the end of the world”. During this long journey we discovered the immense potential of South American ingredients such as maqui berry, camu camu, cat’s claw, acai and maca to improve human health.

Once back home in Buenos Aires, we worked for 2 years with a team of naturopathic physicians and certified nutritionists to develop AYNI’s synergistic formulas with the aim to nourish and enhance body and mind through the raw power of South American medicinal plants.

Our sourcing ethos

We are proud to source 90% of our ingredients from South America where we partner with environmentally and socially conscious suppliers who pay fair wages, provide training programmes to the community and respect the ecosystem.

When necessary to improve our formulas, we ethically source our ingredients from other parts of the world. You can read more about the sourcing of our hero ingredient, the maqui berry, through this link.

When it comes to antioxidants, Maqui is Queen. This small purple berry grows wild in the Patagonia region of Chile and Argentina, where the Mapuche people have used it medicinally for centuries to increase stamina and boost energy levels.
In fact, according to the ORAC test, which measures the antioxidant capacity of substances, Maqui is the most powerful natural source of antioxidants on the planet, with a score of 27,600 ORAC units/100g. These values are more than 2x greater than acai, 3x greater than pomegranate and 100x greater than red wine.
For its science-backed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as its capacity to reshape the gut microbiota we have included organic Patagonian Maqui in both our superpowders.

In the Andean region of Peru, this seed is considered the “mother of all grains” not only for its food value but for its uses in medicine and cosmetics. It was traditionally used to cure wounds and joint pain and it was forbidden by the Spanish conquistadors because of its ritual uses.Nowadays, Quinoa is considered to be a superfood being one of the only grains that contains the all 9 essential amino acids, is high in fiber, gluten-free and rich in anti-inflammatory flavonoids.
For its amazing nutrient profile that helps to boost the digestive process, we have included this ingredient in our SMOOTH Superpowder. The Quinoa we use at AYNI is consciously sourced from the Peruvian Andes, where our supplier is committed to women empowerment (40% of farmers are women who depend exclusively on this income), fair trade and sustainability.

Cat’s claw is a tropical vine that grows up to 30 meters in the Amazon rainforest and has been used for centuries by amazonian tribes to  clean the gastrointestinal tract and combat infections. Scientific studies have shown that the root and bark of this plant help to support immunity, fight inflammation in the gut and support the osteoarticular system. For its digestive properties we have included Cat’s Claw in our SMOOTH blend.
This ingredient is wildcrafted. It grows wild without any human intervention, fully developing nutrients and stamina. These cat’s claw vines have been responsibly harvested after entirely reaching their therapeutic power.

Amazon Rainforest
Green Papaya is a fruit that grows in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It contains 2 enzymes called papain and chymopapain that help to break down fats, carbohydrates and proteins. For that reason, it’s a powerful digestive aid. Moreover, Papaya is rich in fiber, which  helps to fight chronic constipation and bloating. Find Papaya in our SMOOTH supplement.

This superfood is native to the Amazon region and rainforests of Central and South America where it has been traditionally used as an immune and energy booster.
Loaded with antioxidants and phytonutrients, it boosts beauty from within as it fights free radical damage in cells. It also supports cardio-vascular health and helps to lower cholesterol.
We consciously source this ingredient from the Brazilian Amazon and freeze dry it within hours to maintain its amazing qualities. Find Acai in our BLOOM antioxidant supplement.

 Brazilian Amazon
Maca is an adaptogenic* root that has been used for centuries in South America as an energy booster as the plant itself has adapted to the harsh condition of the high altitudes of the Andes by improving its endurance.
Also known as “Peruvian Ginseng”, it works by balancing the adrenal system, therefore helping to decrease stress and anxiety which are one of the main causes of fatigue.
At AYNI we use gelatinized Maca  (instead of its cheaper counterpart raw Maca) which is not only the way it has been consumed in Peru since hundreds of years ago, but also the more digestible and bioavailable version. Find MACA in our BLOOM Antioxidant Superpowder.
* An adaptogen is a nontoxic substance and especially a plant extract that is held to increase the body’s ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and promote or restore normal physiological functioning.

Peruvian Andes
Camu Camu is a small berry that grows in the flooded areas of the Amazon Rainforest of Peru and Brazil. It’s the highest known natural source of Vitamin C (FACT: it has 3 times more vitamin C than acerola and 30 times more than an orange!) making it a powerful antioxidant that boosts collagen production in the skin and supports immunity.
Unlike many vitamin C products which use synthetic ascorbic acid, our plant-based vitamin C from Camu Camu is easily recognized and absorbed by the body as it’s accompanied by other plant compounds, co-enzymes and bioflavonoids.
This ingredient, which we use in our BLOOM blend,  is sustainably sourced from the Peruvian Amazon, where its fair trade is protecting the areas where it grows from deforestation for logging.

Peruvian Amazon
Goldenberry (Physalis peruviana), also known as Aguayamanto or Inca Berry, is a yellow fruit native of the Peruvian Andes. It comes from the Solanaceae family (as Ashwagandha) and it’s considered a superfruit for its many health benefits: it has powerful anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antioxidant properties boosting our immune system, helping to detoxify our body, preventing viral infections, aiding in minimizing cellular aging and lowering stress, anxiety, physical and mental fatigue and depression.
Goldenberry is also a natural, food-based source of  withanolides –the natural steroids that are the main active compounds in the widely used adaptogen Ashwagandha–. As adaptogens, they help the body adapt to stress by improving the health of the adrenal system. This, in turn, can reduce feelings of anxiety and irritability. Over time, adaptogens have been linked to better emotional well being.
Because of the multiple benefits of Physalis Peruviana, we have included it in our BLOOM antioxidant superpowder. We consciously source this ingredient from the Peruvian Andes where it’s harvested at maximum potency and immediately freeze dried to maintain its qualities and nutrients until it reaches your body.

Peruvian Andes
Original of Sri Lanka and rapidly adopted by Greeks, Romans, Arabs and Chinese alike, this spice has always been regarded as medicinal for its great properties to treat bloating and digestive issues. It was, in fact, considered as a gift for kings for its rareness and value.
New scientific studies have confirmed that cinnamon helps to drop the carbon dioxide levels in the stomach, aiding the digestive process. It’s also rich in antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties and tastes a-ma-zing, giving our SMOOTH supplement its great natural flavour.

Used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine, this adaptogen*’s main active compound “curcumin”  has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant which supports brain function and gut and cardio-vascular health.
We included 95% curcuminoid Turmeric plus Black Pepper (which enhances its absorption by 2000%) in our digestive powder SMOOTH, for its ability to reduce gas and bloating naturally.
* An adaptogen is a nontoxic substance and especially a plant extract that is held to increase the body’s ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and promote or restore normal physiological functioning.

Black Pepper and specifically its bioactive compound piperine has been proven to releive nausea, poor digestion and inflammation. Moreover, piperine enhances turmeric’s bioavailability up to 2000%.
Find 95% piperine Black Pepper in our SMOOTH digestive powder.

Inulin is a type of dietary fiber that can’t be broken down by the small intestine and reaches the colon intact. There, it serves as food for good bacteria. Thriving good bacteria create a healthy gut microbiota that helps to improve digestion, boost immunity, optimize nutrient absorption, support overall health and relieve constipation.
We obtain prebioticinulin from consciously sourced Blue Agave from Jalisco, Mexico. Find this ingredient in our SMOOTH digestive powder.
* Prebiotics are compounds in food that induce the growth or activity of beneficial microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The most common example is in the gastrointestinal tract, where prebiotics can alter the composition of organisms in the gut microbiome.

Why superpowders?

The powder format is more bioavailable than pills or tablets. It’s also easy to mix with smoothies, hot drinks or just water.

Why superfoods?

Superfoods contain natural vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients which can’t be replicated in a synthetic version. Moreover, these compounds are easily recognized and absorbed by the body, meaning that they are highly bioavailable and, unlike synthetics,  don’t stress the digestive system by delivering more nutrients than the RDI (recommended daily intake).

Why is AYNI inspired by South America?

South America is not only the place we call home, but also the more biodiverse region in the world, with 5 of the 10 most biodiverse countries on Earth (Brazil, Perú, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador).
